The raw memory performance is pretty abysmal compared to other P45 boards. At only 4-4-4-12-2T with no other optimisations it doesn't even fare particularly well against some P35 boards when it comes to write performance. Copy performance is also a bit of a letdown too. The high latency doesn't help matters either – it's nearly 10ns or 14 percent off the optimal performance delivered by the Asus P5Q Deluxe.

Sisoft Sandra tells of much the same story – the MSI P45 Platinum's performance doesn't speak of "next generation" at all.
